Yuill Family Foundation Gifts $50,000 Toward Football Scholarship

The Yuill Family Foundation donated $50,000 which will be used towards the “Willard Yuill Athletic Award for Football”. This scholarship will be awarded annually to a student recruited from St. Andrews College or Southern Alberta to play Football for the University of Calgary Dino’s.

Willard Yuill, the Yuill Family Foundation’s Chairman, thought it would be fitting to work with the University of Calgary as they have already had quality players come from St. Andrews College in recent years, “I hope this scholarship will motivate some young high school athletes to strive to play at U of C,” said Yuill, “I have a strong relationship with St. Andrew’s College, and youth athletics is a core focus of the Family Foundation, so this deal naturally made sense.”

St. Andrew’s athletes will have first priority access to this scholarship, followed by athletes from Southern Alberta. To be eligible, students must have an admission average of at least 80% and be recruited by U of C with intention of playing for the Dino’s Football Team. The Dino’s Football recruiting staff will be in charge of awarding the scholarship. The scholarship will be given out for approximately 10 years, or until the funds run out.
